A Message From Our President

Dear Greater Grand Rapids Chapter Members and visitors:

As we begin our 2014-2015 programming year celebrating our 4th year of chapter-hood, I would like to encourage all of you to consider our national theme as we work together to achieve the aims of this great organization - The Power to Make A Difference. As parents and advocates we have the power to make a difference in the lives of our children through Leadership Development, Cultural Heritage, and Community Service. As President I continue to be honored to serve alongside women who are committed to empowering our children and all children to lead and serve.

In alignment with the national vision for Jack and Jill of America, Inc. my vision for the Greater Grand Rapids Chapter is to be recognized as the premiere family organization for community service, cultural education, philanthropy and youth leadership training. My goals for our chapter are (1) Build sustainable practices and systems to ensure the future of our chapter and therefore the ability to impact the lives of children in Greater Grand Rapids. (2) Serve children in the Greater Grand Rapids area by addressing some of the challenges impacting African American children and teens. (3) Establish a footprint in the Greater Grand Rapids community for service to all children through community service outreach and philanthropy. I, like all of you, am passionate about the mission and objectives of this organization because of how it assists us as mothers to instill excellence in our children. Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has survived 77 years because of the dedication of our members to be an advocate for children. We must ensure our organizational efforts are sustainable and our legacy remains intact.  I would like to thank our mother members  for your commitment and dedication as members of the "Great and Grand" Greater Grand Rapids Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. To our visitors, thank you for visiting our site. I invite you on behalf our our membership to learn more about our community outreach initiatives and how you can partner with us to help make a difference in children's lives.

Jillingly,

Barbara
